I have decided that an introduction to a new challenge required to have a new site to go along with it. So I am happy to introduce:

12 in 24

Tomorrow a new challenge begins. This time it is not going to be the usual Active 30 day challenge. I have decided to create my own challenge. I am calling it the 12 IN 24 Challenge. I want to believe that the title is pretty obvious as to the meaning so I will not explain it out. The challenge will start tomorrow. Once it is started there will be no stopping it. I can’t say it will be easy especially without a preplanned workout schedule, but I feel pretty confident that I can succeed.
Like the last challenge there should be daily updates with a weekly wrap up. I am also trying to think of other new posts that I can do with this. The one new thing I have is a logo for my challenge:
At the end of this challenge is my busy week. After that is over I will go back to the Active challenge at the medium level.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Week 4

Today we have the official 30 days even though the challenge ended yesterday. So what was on today’s agenda? That would have to be the official weigh-in. So I will cut to the chase and reveal my total loss for the first challenge. The total loss is:

9 Pounds

I can’t believe it is actually that much. Who knew healthy eating and exercising would lead to losing weight. So now I just have to keep the course and continue to strive for my goal. Like I stated before I have a busy piece ahead and will push my next challenge ahead a bit, but it will not stop me from getting a work out. I am going to set up some really good custom workouts that will give me the same or even more of a workout than the challenge. Then once I am able to start another challenge I am going to set it to the medium setting and kick some butt. I have yet to figure out how I am going to work posting on here, but I am sure I will figure something out. Stay tuned for it.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 29

That is all she wrote folks. I have finished my first EA Sports Active 30 day challenge. While tomorrow is actually the 30th day today was the last workout so it is officially over. I even got myself a little trophy at the end and a pep talk from Oprah’s trainer. He is the main spokesman for the product. He came in every now and then for inspiration. He seems like a nice guy. Now on with the final rundown of the challenge:

The Good: Like you just read this is the last day of my challenge. It is crazy to think that it went that fast, but it was a great 29 days. I can’t wait to continue with the work outs and for the new set of work outs that come out in November. I am thinking of doing a complete over view of the system tomorrow.

The Bad: With my schedule how it is I am unable to start a new challenge. If I do start a challenge I will not be able to complete it. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. I was thinking of doing custom work outs until everything gets to a place of normalcy.

The Ugly: With the last work out they decided to let me do all of the different exercises. They especially like to have me do the ones that I am not a fan of. It is only really 3 or so of them that I am not a fan of. Most have something to do with lunges/squats and jumping at the same time.

There you have the last rundown of this challenge. Tomorrow I will have the official weighing in of the challenge. I would take a guess at what it will be, but I actually checked today and have an idea what tomorrow will bring. If anyone wants to take a guess you can leave it in the comment area. Then stay tuned for the official tomorrow.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 28

It was a very long day today. In the morning I did some random Active exercising. Then I did the whole family thing for the rest of the day. I came home just in time to get my challenge in for today. So here is the rundown:

The Good: I connected two of the bands that I had purchased together and now it works really well. I am able to do all the exercises without an issue. The bands are also stronger than the out of box band so I am also getting a better work out.

The Bad: I cut the two running parts out of the workout today. I couldn’t do them without issues. The issues continue on the next part.

The Ugly: My hip started hurting early today. It has hurt before, but usually goes away after an hour or so. Today it hurt all day and even now. That is why I had to cut the running parts out of the work out tonight. Hopefully it works itself out and starts feeling better. It really makes me feel like an old man though.

That is the rundown for tonight. In case you are counting this is the second to last exercise day for the challenge. That means tomorrow is the last day of the challenge. It is day 29, but the next day is a day of rest so it doesn’t count. It at least doesn’t count to the challenge people. I will then have to figure out what I am going to do next. I can’t start a new challenge due to foreseeable events in the next 30 days. I may have to just do custom exercises till I find a 30 day stretch that works with me. I guess we will see what comes of it. I still have one more day after all to think about it.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 27

This was another day of rest. I did little to nothing today. I was thinking I should do something with my time, but I really did nothing. It makes me wish I had more of a lifee than I do, but that is for a different blog and different time.I spent a lot of time watching random old tv shows. I would say some names, but I don't want to admit to the horrible crap I have been watching.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 26

I don't remember my work out for today, because I am really posting this Sunday night. I got lazy and didn't really feel like posting anything. I am sure that the workout was really good though. Just very uneventful that I don't remember it. So I guess I will continue on with the other days. I am sure no one will really be reading this post anyways.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 25

With a rest behind me and my back feeling a whole lot better we come to another workout day. So no time for small talk here is the rundown:

The Good: I have found that a lot of these exercises are getting easier to do. The best example is the side lunges. I use to struggle with them, stumble a bit when doing them, and get yelled at from the voice. Now I go through them with no problems. It is a really good feeling.

The Bad: I will point to the ugly on this one.

The Ugly: The stupid Pilates Bands that I purchased. They are horrible pieces of crap. They are too short so I am unable to successfully do one of the exercises. I even switched to the lesser resistant band and it is still too small for me. I am thinking they are made for someone who is much smaller than 6 feet tall. I am able to do anything around the waste. I guess that is some sort of plus, but they still suck.

There is the rundown for today. I also had a nice 30 minute walk today. There is nothing better than a mid-morning walk to make you feel good. Of course then there is work to destroy all your progress, but that is for a different blog. I am just happy I was able to go for a walk and that the weather was wonderful.

Have a happy and healthy one.
